About the procedure
As we age, the elasticity of the skin decreases and it becomes loose and saggy. This sagging can also be a result of the natural fat distribution or caused by a significant reduction in weight.
Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess skin and subcutaneous fat from the armpits and axillae, and in certain patients from the lateral surface of the chest. In certain cases, in order to achieve optimal results, the procedure can be combined with liposuction in the area.
Depending on the degree of accumulation of subcutaneous fat, the degree of sagging of the skin and the subcutaneous tissue, as well as the preservation of the elastic capacity of the skin, the following main techniques are employed:
- circumferential liposuction and / or prophylactic radiofrequency minimally invasive BodyTite procedure – for patients with minimal amount of subcutaneous fat, without ptosis - link to BodyTite
- liposuction with radiofrequency minimally invasive BodyTite procedure - for patients with moderate amount of subcutaneous fat with 1st degree ptosis / up to 5 cm / - link to BodyTite
- excision with / without liposuction – for patients with significant amount of subcutaneous fat with II degree ptosis / 5 to 10 cm /
- excision with / without liposuction - for patients with significant amount of subcutaneous fat with III degree ptosis / over 10 cm /
