Breast lift

Ptosis (sagging) of the breasts can be caused by many different reasons, such as the processes of aging in the tissues, the loss of skin elasticity, a significant reduction in weight, pregnancy, breastfeeding. This drooping can be corrected surgically. The breast lift procedure is associated with the removal of excess skin, moving the nipple and areola to a higher position and forming a tighter and more attractive bust. In specific cases, the intervention can be combined with breast augmentation, in which the breasts are lifted and implants are placed at the same time. In other cases, breast lift can be combined with volume reduction (reduction mammoplasty).

Consultation

• during the consultation your surgeon will get acquainted with your expectations and the current condition of the breasts. Photographs are taken and the parameters of the bust are measured in order to refine the choice of the specific technique

About the procedure

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The position of the incisions depends on the degree of sagging. If there is a minimal sagging of the breasts and / or in cases of simultaneous lifting with breast augmentation with implants, the incisions are placed in a circle around the areolas. If the sagging is significant, the incisions are made around the nipple and they extend vertically through the lower half of the breast and / or in the folds under the mammary glands (an "anchor" incision). During the procedure, the nipple and areola are raised in a preoperatively determined position and, if necessary, the diameter of the areolas is reduced; excess skin is removed and glandular tissue is shaped to give a firmer and more shaped bust. The surgical intervention ends with an aesthetic skin suture and removal of the aspiration drainages.

Recovery

• the aspiration drainages are removed in the next 24-72 hours
• the sutures are removed on the 10th-14th day
• dressings are changed on the 3rd and 7th post-operative day
• elastic bra has to be worn for 2-3 months
• intense physical activity should be avoided for the next 30 days
• control examinations on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th post-operative month, as well as at the end of the first year following surgery
• final result is visible on the 6th -7th post-operative month
• in the first days after surgery you might experience mild to moderate  pain, which can be controlled with painkillers
• - over the years, under the action of gravity, breast tissue relaxes, but will not return to its position from before surgery. The degree of future sagging depends on the individual characteristics of the organism
• topical creams are applied in order to improve the aesthetic appearance of the scars

How do we proceed?

Your specific needs and goals will be discussed in detail at the consultation, as well as the ways to achieve them. During the consultation, we will also review any medical records you have. It is possible to take pictures of problem areas. The expected results, possible risks and all other issues that interest you will be discussed. We advise you to make a list of all your questions before the consultation.

If you decide to undergo the surgery, we will have to sign a contract which will determine the date of the procedure, the price and all other details. A 10% up-front payment is required within 24 hours after signing and sending the contract (excluding weekends and holidays). The balance must be paid the day before the procedure, after the preliminary examination, if any.

We will make all necessary reservations for flights and stays.

On arrival, you will be met at the airport by an employee of ours, who will take you to the hotel and help you check in.

The day before the operation, if necessary, you can have a preliminary medical examination. During it, all the details about the operation (such as a complete treatment plan, suggestion for some additional or related procedures for better results, recovery plan) will be specified. Our employee will take you to the clinic and then back to your hotel.

On the day of your operation, our employee will bring you to the clinic and then, after the procedure and the initial recovery, will take you back to the hotel.

At your request and if the procedure allows, we can take care of your nice stay during the time spent.

On your departure day, you will be accompanied to the airport by our employee.
