Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular and desired procedures in the field of plastic surgery. Breast enlargement by placing silicone implants is the only proven method for lasting achievement of the result so dreamed of by all ladies. Dr. Sharkov works with the world-renowned brand Motiva, whose ergonomic implants are used for augmentation of the breasts by keeping their most natural-looking appearance. Visually and tactilely, both at rest and when moving, the enlarged breasts look natural, as close as possible in texture to their own glandular tissue. In addition to increasing the volume, the shape of the breasts with minimum degree of sagging is also improved.

 Consultation

• during the consultation your surgeon will get acquainted with your expectations and the current condition of the breasts. Photographs are taken and the parameters of the bust are measured in order to refine the choice of the specific technique

- you will be able to discuss what you hope to achieve from the procedure and whether it is possible given your physical characteristics

- you will be explained all details regarding the choice of operative equipment and the location of the scars in the specific case; you will be provided with information about the possibility and necessity of simultaneous breast lifting and augmentation with implants;  you will be given information about all necessary examinations before the surgery, recovery time and aftercare; you will receive information about possible risks and complications related to the operative intervention; the surgeon must be informed by the patient of all past and concomitant diseases, previous operations and medication

 About the procedure

 The procedure is performed under general anesthesia.

 1.Some of the following incisions for breast implant placement are made:

• through the areola – implant placement through the nipple is the preferred method when it is necessary to reduce the diameter of the areola and / or to combine augmentation with breast lift.

• under the breast – implant placement through an incision in the inframammary fold under the breast is a common method. In this case, a visible scar remains in the area.

• in the armpit – implant placement through an incision along the armpit, where the scar is small and remains well hidden in the natural crease of the axilla. The technique requires additional qualification of the plastic surgeon.

2.Pockets for breast implant placement are formed:

• submuscular - implants can be placed underneath the chest muscle, which provides a stable and long-lasting result. In these cases, the muscle holds the implant in its upper part and prevents it from sagging. The result is more aesthetic, as the pectoral muscle covers part of the implant and the bust looks more natural. The risk of capsular contracture is lower when the implants are placed under the muscle.

• supramuscular – over the muscle implant placement is also done. Depending on the specific case, the implant can be placed subglandular (under the mammary gland) or subfascial (under the outer  fascia which is the connective tissue sheath)  of the big pectoral muscle (pectoralis major). This approach provides lighter postoperative recovery, but a quicker sagging with age may occur.

• if there is a difference in the volume of the breasts, in certain cases different volume implants can be used in order to achieve symmetry of the bust.

3.Aspiration drainages are installed.

4.Incisions are sutured aesthetically.

5.Your surgeon puts elastic bandages in the surgery area, which are replaced with an elastic bra on the next day or in the next 48 hours.

Recovery

• the aspiration drainages are removed in the next 24-72 hours
• the sutures are removed on the 10th-14th day
• dressings are changed on the 3rd and 7th postoperative day
• elastic bra has to be worn for 2-3 months
• intense physical activity should be avoided for the next 30 days
• control examinations on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th postoperative month, as well as at the end of the first year following surgery
• final result is visible on the 6th -7th postoperative month
• in the first days after surgery you might experience mild to moderate  pain, which can be controlled with painkillers
• it is advisable to replace implants every 20 years, even though, according to manufacturers, they are lifelong
• after the first month, special massages are performed, which accelerate the relaxation of the muscles and prevent the possible development of capsular contracture
• topical creams are applied in order to improve the aesthetic appearance of the scars

How do we proceed?

After contacting us, we will arrange a video consultation for you with the surgeon we believe is most suitable according to your personal needs. The consultation will take place within 72 hours of your request.

Your specific needs and goals will be discussed in detail at the consultation, as well as the ways to achieve them. During the consultation, we will also review any medical records you have. It is possible to take pictures of problem areas. The expected results, possible risks and all other issues that interest you will be discussed. We advise you to make a list of all your questions before the consultation.

If you decide to undergo the surgery, we will have to sign a contract which will determine the date of the procedure, the price and all other details. A 10% up-front payment is required within 24 hours after signing and sending the contract (excluding weekends and holidays). The balance must be paid the day before the procedure, after the preliminary examination, if any.

We will make all necessary reservations for flights and stays.

On arrival, you will be met at the airport by an employee of ours, who will take you to the hotel and help you check in.

The day before the operation, if necessary, you can have a preliminary medical examination. During it, all the details about the operation (such as a complete treatment plan, suggestion for some additional or related procedures for better results, recovery plan) will be specified. Our employee will take you to the clinic and then back to your hotel.

On the day of your operation, our employee will bring you to the clinic and then, after the procedure and the initial recovery, will take you back to the hotel.

At your request and if the procedure allows, we can take care of your nice stay during the time spent.

On your departure day, you will be accompanied to the airport by our employee.
